Michael Fiore

President/Owner, EPG Technologies

Outgoing Chairman of the Board

Born in Burbank and raised in Van Nuys, Michael truly grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He went to high school at Loyola High School and attended college at UCLA.

Married in 1998, Michael and his wife, Ariella bought a home originally built in 1920 and situated on a third of an acre in Historic Van Nuys.  It continues to be the recipient of much needed care and renovation.  They have two children, and they continue to live and work in Van Nuys.

An Earth and Space Science major at UCLA, Michael became interested in using technology to enhance learning. Prompted by an enriching experience working in Maryland, Michael and Ariella decided to start their own company, and, in 2001, EPG Technologies was born. Since then, EPG Technologies has grown into a full-service technology services company specializing in four major areas: information systems, online giving, learning and technology, and new media/social networks.

Michael joined the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and quickly took a leadership role as the Chamber representative for the Van Nuys Targeted Neighborhood Initiative.  He served as liaison between the Chamber and the City of Los Angeles while the Chamber constructed landscape medians along the Van Nuys Boulevard Business Corridor.

Michael has served on the Government Affairs Committee working on specific projects such as modification to the Community Design Overlay and working with the community to make those modifications affordable to businesses.  In 2002, the Chamber awarded Michael the Progress Through People Award for working with the business community on improving the quality of life in our communities.

In 2005, he was asked to serve on the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber’s Board of Directors and chair the Government Affairs Division, a position he held until 2008, when he assumed the role of Chair-Elect.  During his tenure as chairman of the board in 2009, the Chamber has increased membership over 20 percent.  Michael helped forge alliances with other Valley Chambers and led a delegation of Chamber members to Washington, D.C. to meet with key senators and members of Congress on legislation affecting California businesses.
