This report for the first year of the 2005-2006 legislative session focuses on state floor votes on high priority bills.
No vote record can tell the entire story of a legislator’s attitude and actions on issues important to business. To fully evaluate your legislative representative, consult the legislative journals and examine your legislator’s votes in committee and on floor issues via the legislative counsel’s website.
Most bills listed cover major business issues that are of great concern to both small and large companies. Bills select for the vote record took into consideration that bills and votes reflect legislators’ attitudes toward private enterprise, fiscal responsibility, and the business climate.
A legislator not voting can aid the Chamber’s opposition to a bill, therefore the vote record includes the number of times legislators did not vote “aye” on a Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber-opposed bill in the total for the column listing actions “in accord with Greater San Fernando Valley.”
